The Mandurah Entrance Road is fast approaching the final stages of construction with the project currently at around 85% complete.

On the road, all gravel works have been completed and only minor basecourse placement remains.

Sealing is complete and at the beginning of the month, approximately 5 kilometres had been asphalted. The remaining asphalt is expected to be placed throughout July and August.

Concrete barrier installation is well underway, with approximately half of just over 4 kilometres of the TL5 slipform barrier already in place.

Crews are installing around 130 linear metres of the barriers each day and are expected to complete works during late August.

The barriers are installed in the same way as kerbing and are in place to prohibit traffic and people from entering the rail reserve.

At the end of June, traffic was shifted onto the completed roundabout at Mandurah Road, while the Rafferty Road intersection is being reconstructed. This stage of traffic modification will remain in place for approximately 6 weeks.

Services are currently being installed at the tunnels, which will soon be handed over to the Public Transport Authority.

Crews have recently commenced an upgrade of the Gordon Road and Education Drive intersection, which will include the installation traffic signals and lights, as well as footpath and central median works.

The intersection modification will take approximately 6 weeks to complete and is being undertaken to improve safety and traffic flow when the MER is open to traffic.
